Police are investigating the death of a Racine firefighter.Officers said they were called just before noon Sunday to a home on Pinehurst Avenue.A 911 caller said a man was found not breathing.The victim, a 50-year-old man, was a 21-year veteran of the Racine Fire Department.He was identified as Christopher Lalor.”There’s not going to be a day that goes by that we’re not going to think of him, see Engine 5 or think about Chris, a special person,” Assistant Fire Chief Brian Wolf said.His death was being investigated as a homicide. “Chris Lalor thought community meant most to him and he thought and felt that the best way that he could serve the community that he loved and grew up in was being a fireman and he loved it,” Lt. Tim O’Brien said.Investigators have not said how he died.”In a lot of the guys eyes here he was that true unsung hero because of what he did without asking for any kind of gratitude, thank your or what have you,” Capt. Ed Benson said.So far, no arrests have been made.Police have not released any other details.Anyone with information on the case was asked to call Racine police at 262-635-7756.
