Ashland High School senior Elaina Seeger (from left), sophomore Lahaela Mika, junior Madison Gingras and junior Hunter Chenier competed in the Wisconsin High School Powerlifting Association state meet at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center in Appleton March 5-6. Seeger, in the 148-pound weight class, and Mika, at 165 pounds, both broke state records in the bench press. Mika also placed third in her class, and Gingras placed fifth at 148 pounds. Chenier, in the boys 198-pound class, finished twenty-first with a total of 1,030 pounds lifted, which earned him a spot in the exclusive powerlifting 1,000-pound club.
