Quinten Arthur Hammes, Jr.
October 16, 1944 – December 31, 2021
RACINE – Surrounded by his loving family, Quinten Arthur Hammes Jr. departed this life at All Saints Hospital in Racine on December 31, 2021. He was born in Biloxi Mississippi on October 16, 1944, daughter of the late Quinten and Louis (nee: Newman) Hammes.
Being a dedicated husband and father was always his first priority. He had extensive travels with his wife of 51 years, Joan Hammes, including to the Caribbean, Europe, South America and Asia. Quin was a respected local business owner, Entrepreneur and had worked with Joan for decades in their business, Diamond Laser Service. Quinten loved learning as shown by his interest in technology, getting his instrument rated pilot license, travelling the world and many other wonderful adventures.He will be greatly missed by his devoted family, his children: Lee Ann (Steve) Stremke and Quinten (Renee) Hammes III; his sisters: Cynthia (Rich) McKenna, Heather Hammes and Jennifer (Greg) Berg; his grandchildren: Amy (Rajan) Sandhu, Laura Stremke and Eric (Kendall) Stremke; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Karen Lowry, John (Pam) Lowry, Jane (Steve) Fogle Karen Lowry, John (Pam) Lowry, Jane (Steve) Fogle. He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife Joan (Lowry) Hammes, his sister Quinette, his father Quinten Arthur Hammes Sr and his mother Lois (Newman) Hammes. An memorial to honor Quin’s life will be at Racine County Pony Club Equestrian Center. Quin’s life will be celebrated at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home on Monday January 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.The funeral at Maresh-Meredith will be live streamed and may be viewed by going to the funeral home website, select Quin’s page, select service and click on live stream.
The burial will be immediately following at West Lawn Memorial Park, 9000 Washington Ave in Racine.
