‘I still like my job after 25-years’: Winnebago Co. dispatcher reaches milestone
OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – Over the last year and a half, we’ve been talking about first responders who have been on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Communications dispatchers are a critical component of this field, handling calls for service. In Winnebago County, as well as surrounding counties, there is a shortage.
“First of all, it’s absolutely not for everyone and we talk about that at every phase of our interview process,” said Capt. Lara Vendola-Messer. She says some people think the job is like what you see in our favorite TV show or movie and it’s not. “You think you understand what it’s like, but until you actually here it’s very different,” added Vendola-Messer.

Preble HS interim principal announced
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Nearly a month after former Preble High School Principal, Natasha Rowell resigned, a new interim president has been named.
According to the Green Bay Area Public School District (GBAPS), Bruce Russell will serve as Preble High School’s interim principal for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year.

DOC suspends in-person visitation due to COVID-19
(WFRV) – Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases across Wisconsin correctional facilities, authorities announced Thursday that they are invoking temporary changes to its visitor policy effective immediately.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC), due to the rise in cases, they are making immediate, temporary changes regarding entry into adult facilities.
